The Yeti Starter kit from AltSmoke
admin, March 26th, 2010
This was actually the second starter kit I ordered, but the first to arrive. Two weeks prior, I had placed an order for the Titan PCC Starter Kit from Totally Wicked. Along with some additional supplies and ejuice. Unfortunately, USPS lost my order. I really wanted to get started vaping and had heard that Rob over at AltSmoke not only carried a solid inventory of electronic cigarette supplies and juices, but that his customer service and shipping speed were top notch. So I ordered the Yeti Starter Kit and a 10ml bottle of Peach juice. Not sure why I choose peach, it just sort of sounded interesting. Anyways, three days later my kit arrived. Thanks Rob! Oh and the peach juice turned out to be a pleasant introduction, although I’ve learned to make tobacco flavors my main vape.
Right out of the box I totally “got it”. A smoking alternative that not only delivered the nicotine but simulated a real cigarette by providing not only a throat hit, but smoke ( err.. I mean vapor ). Yeah, the novelty of it was pretty awesome. I can honestly see how electronic cigarettes help people who are ready to quit smoking, quit.
Of course there is a bit of a learning curve, but that’s the fun part. Have I quit smoking yet? Not yet, but the reduction in what I normally smoke is incredible. More times than I expected, I crave my 510 more. I don’t look at a half pack of smokes and think, “shit!..I need to buy smokes”. It’s more like, I look forward to getting the perfect vape and playing with different juices. So to be honest, I haven’t quit smoking yet, but going from a pack a day down to four or six cigarettes is a pretty big accomplishment in my book.
The Yeti
The Yeti is simply a branded 510 model, made up of a battery, atomizer and cartridge . Same as the Joye and Titan ( from Totally Wicked ). Being 510’s, all the parts are compatible. Meaning if you’re like me and buy from different companies, it doesn’t matter if your buying Joye batteries or a Titan PCC Starter kit… everything works together.
The Yeti starter kit ( my purchase price w/ the extra juice, $57.43 incl. SH and stuff ) comes complete with your basics.
- 2 – Yeti Batteries
- 2 – Yeti Atomizers
- 5 – Yeti Cartridges
- 1 – Yeti Battery Charger & Cord
- 1 – Yeti Manual
Remember, this is just a starter kit. I kinda did some research first, and knew that I needed to top off my cartridges every so often ( seven to ten draws ), so that’s why I ordered the extra peach juice. So make sure you add some ejuice to your order. If your a menthol smoker, pick something minty. A regular light to full flavor smoker… just go with a tobacco flavor to start. Hell! There’s even a clove juice for you clove smokers.
Final thoughts…
I choose the 510 model ( Titan, Joye, Yeti ) because I wanted a popular and easy to use brand to start my electronic cigarette journey. My goal is to eventually quit smoking all together. Although electronic cigarettes, also known as Personal Vaporizers ( PV’s ) are designed to be smoking alternatives and not as a quit smoking aid, this is how I choose to stop smoking ( eventually ).
Talk to you guys in the next post.

The 510 is totally bad-ass, gives monster vapor, great throat hit, and from my experience decent battery life. If you’re used to being out and about I totally recommend a PCC (Personal Charger Case) not only does it hold an x-tra atty and 2 spare carts, it charges the battery to boot all in a pocket sized box no larger than a Ginny Slims box
